Using Internet Marketing to Increase the Traffic on Your Website

During my Internet marketing campaign I used Twitter and Facebook extensively, and the results were quite good. I did not use any ads that I have to pay for, but instead I opted for the free option. In my experience Facebook generated a lot more direct hits to my page then Twitter, and it was easier for my to find my target audience on Facebook. Twitter seemed de-personalized and cold. Since I have a movie blog with daily updates that I would post on facebook, it allowed me to find out how many people are talking about my posts and how many are talking about my website in general. Youtube is also an excellent tool, but only if you put the link to your site under the video, otherwise people will not bother to click and scroll to find it. Also the video that you are making must be at least funny and original, otherwise you will not get the necessary amount of buzz to get the hits going. One other option is Stumbleupon that did not generate a lot of hits, but instead it kept a low income of new visitors that later on got linked in with their facebook accounts and my website.

But surely the Holy Grail of all internet marketing is ranking high in Google - because they give you the most targeted traffic. Keywords are also important and if you use statcounter or Google analytics you can analyze how people are reaching your site and what combination of words got them to visit. It's good to consult with an SEO firm near you first of all to either let them do the work, or get some advice on what you need to do. A search for something like SEO Nottingham (obviously insert your local town here) will help you find SEO service providers in your area. Using this information you can adjust the content on your site match some of these keywords. This is going to have to be a compromise with the content. When you combine all of these sites and keep the updates regular and interesting you get an increase in traffic and that is the ultimate goal of any site.
