Feeling Abandoned and Used by an Old Friend

posted on 15 February 2012

Liz was my best friend in grade school. We were still classmates in high school but it was unfortunate that our friendship turned sour. For some reasons, she started hanging out with another group of girls. I was hurt. I felt that I was abandoned by my best friend. It was a good thing that I was well versed with sport psychology, because it led me to make friends much easier than I thought it would be. My interest in sports opened a new door for me. I got active in football, which was rare for girls. I practiced a lot and time came when I became really good at it. Modesty aside, I became popular in school because of my game. To my surprise, Liz started talking to me again. All of a sudden, she wanted to spend more time with me. I wondered what brought about the sudden change. I hate to admit it, but part of me tells me that she is just using me so that she too will be popular. She has hurt me before, and I won't let her do it to me again.

True What They Say: a Photo Speaks a Thousand Words

posted on 23 September 2011

We all have our own memories. They’re just stored somewhere in us. But how do we share it with others? Simple. Show them a photo. A lot of people are put off with photography because they think they're no good. In fact, when we hired a portrait photographer in Berkshire, the photos were so good, I started doubting my own abilities to take decent photos! But I tell myself to put those doubts away, because taking a photo is all about find an opportinity. You don’t need an expensive camera to do this, or have a career in photography. Even the 1.3 mega-pixel cam on your mobile would do a pretty good job. I’m no professional camera-man. But I’ve got this habit of taking photos of everything that tingles me with interest - I've taken snaps of many "in the moment" events that say so much about what was going on at the time - they truly do tell a story.

Birthday gifts differ with different age groups

posted on 11 September 2011

The gift that will be given to a fourteen year old girl is not the same that will be given to a ten year old girl. This is because the age gaps make them like different things. The fourteen year old is a teenager and the ten year old is a pre teen thus the gift wants will not be the same. This is something that my fiance learned when he was getting his ten year old niece a gift for her birthday. He had already bought her a phone and I told him that was not a practical birthday presents for girls age 10. I asked him which books she liked reading and he told me that she was obsessed with some Cinderella books. So I told him that Cinderella dresses were the best birthday presents for girls age 10. When she was given the dress, she was impressed. She wore the dress until it became too big for her and her parents had to convince her to stop wearing the dress. That is how he learned to buy her gifts.

Enjoy 3D Tvs Even At home

posted on 1 September 2011

The first time I watched a 3D movie, I really enjoyed it! Before, watching movies just meant looking at a wide screen. This was basically what I expected when I watched the movie. I was surprised that they handed me glasses which I had to wear throughout the movie. I just wore them without any questions. To my surprise, it made the whole experience a lot better! Everything was so real for me. I was one of the best things that has happened to me. Since then, I never missed a movie which came out in 3D. I was excited when there were 3d tvs which are being launched by different brands. I am looking at different options that I can have. I will be able to enjoy watching 3D TVs even at home. Trust me, you will never know how wonderful this experience is until you try it out. Once you have watched from a 3D TV, you will never get back to the conventional ones ever.

Productivity of your workers will improve after coaching seminars

posted on 22 July 2011

Working in businesses and other income generating activities can be hectic if the employees you are working with are not willing to perform, or maybe the employer keeps on creating issues with their employees thus affecting their work performance. What you need to do if you are a business owner or maybe you wish to create a different attitude between your employer and employees is organizing for them some kind of performance coaching seminar that will help you evaluate where the problem is and what you need to do to be sure that this does not continue in your organization. These employers and employees will improve in their productivity once they go through such a seminar because they will also be able to talk freely and share their problems and once they know that they have been heard, they will work hard towards improving your company because now they know you understand their problem and are working on it. Coaching them to deal with office issues will save you from the loss you are experiencing because of them.

Artificial Pitch Cleaning Helped Our Cricket Wicket

posted on 12 May 2011

Our local cricket pitch has seen many legendry games take place over the decades and I wouldn't change it for the world - it's unique. However, one bone of contention and problem was the wicket. To be honest, it was awful. The bounce was random so batsmen really had to keep their wits about them. Then we got an artificial surface for it and everything improved drastically - the only people who complained were the bowlers because they no longer had the advantage of an uneven bounce! We make sure it is serviced with artificial pitch cleaning regularly too. It's really made a game of cricket feel that much more fair - the spin is true as is the bounce, and since both times have to bat no matter what in a game of cricket, we're really all glad that we have a better chance of getting a century now!

Festival Kits Made My Camping Experience All the More Easy

posted on 3 May 2011

It was my first time at a music festival - Glastonbury of all places too! I was both nervous and excited - excited because I was going to see my favourite bands and was anticipating having a great time. Nervous because to be honest, I'd never even been camping before! I was used to the luxuries of my home. I didn't know if I could handle it. Anyway, I did a search online and found some festival kits I could buy to sort out all my camping gear in one fell swoop. This made it SO much easier for me. I bought one and I had all my gear sorted. This made me feel organized, even though I'd just make a single purchase! Anyway, luckily I was also travelling with Lucy who is a bit of a festival veteran so I knew I could rely on her help and advice. It ended up being a great festival and I can't wait to go to the next one.

Fishing Time With The Family: To Do or Not To Do?

posted on 21 February 2011

Being a girl born and raised in the city, I did not know how to react when my dad told me we were going fishing. My first reaction was "Yayyy! We're going to the beach!" then realized people don't really fish at the shore. So he told me we were going to a river near our ancestral house where he and his brother used to go as children to fish, literally for their next meal. I wasn't too keen about the fishing part, but the fact that I will get to see some part of their childhood that was important to them interested me very much. However, I still doubted that fishing would be enjoyable for me. I was wrong. On the day of the fishing trip I sat near the edge of the water with my parents and my uncle and his family, and the experts taught us how to fish. I was queasy about handling the worms (most girls were) and other carp tackle we used, but they did the first few for us until we volunteered to do it ourselves just to prove that we can do it if we wanted to. We're such overachievers. The best part about it was that we did manage to catch a few fish, albeit really small ones. For first timers, though, I'd say we did a really great job! It was time well spent with the family, and I recommend this activity to any family. It's great to just sit down somewhere with everyone, wait patiently for the bait to do its job, and have your whole family cheering you on when the fish bites and you begin reeling it in. Happy fishing!
