Commercialism Is Ruining Music, Just Look at Radio

A crazy thing is happening to music - producers are compressing sounds to a ridiculous level just to make songs "louder" - the compressed sound takes away the dynamic range of sounds making songs sound "flatly loud" throughout - for example, when a song reaches what would be a quiet moment, the few instruments playing are amped up. When a drumbeat is introduced, you'll notice every instrument losing its volume slightly as they share the frequency with the added drumbeat. Why have some producers done this? To compete with other tracks on the radio, which in turn compete with heavily compressed audion adverts! DJs love the fact that all audio is compressed because they don't need to mess with their own volume controls - it's a pity it all sounds rubbish though! I did a search for recording studios rome (studios near me) and I'd like to see what their policies are for mixing tracks - I know they'll be doing proper mixing there (surely) and the compression is done later.
