All Starry Eyed For Vincent Van Gogh

My favorite artist is Vincent Van Gogh. I started admiring his work in high school when I first set eyes on a picture of Starry Night in one of our books. But it was in college that I was able to have a deeper understanding of his work. In my opinion he was a victim of psychological and emotional turmoils that may have ravaged his mind and heart. His contorted visions and convoluted view of the world is very evident in his works, and the swirling patterns of his pieces are proof of that. Even in his self-portrait there is a certain vulnerability when you think about the way he viewed himself. I have also read copies of letters he sent to his sister, and the more I learned about his life, the more I admired him and also pitied him for what he had to go through. If I could have the power to go back in time to meet him, or maybe just sit in a room while he paints one of his famous art works, I would be the happiest time traveler in the world! Having said that, I'm also a fan of Banksy, and I'm glad to be alive during his own rise to fame.
